One quote that what inspires you all?
Music is like an ocean the further you go the the more you learn about it!
Tell us a bit about yourself?
We’re a progressive rock band and we hope to create rock like its never been heard before in the local circle we like heavy music but at the same time we love melodically sound music.
Inspirations?
Porcupine tree, Dream theatre, Symphony X, Steven Wilson and plenty others too many to really list down.
What are your hopes for the near future?
We hope to release the album which is called Naya din we also hope to play a lot more shows than we have been in the past one year.
If you guys were to describe yourself in simple word choice..What would you say? Who are your idols and why?
Saturn is Saturn….We make Saturn music we have no genre but people tend to think otherwise and consider us Progressive rock/metal. Steven Wilson, Gavin Harrison, John Petrucci, John Meyyung
Do you guys have any other hobbies, obviously, making music?
Music isn’t our hobby we are born musicians, but Shahbaz Zaidi our vocalist is a graphics designer and a post producer and a music producer.
Your song for kuch khaas a great hit, how did you get together and ended up making such a good song?
It was made very spontaneously we didn’t really put in a lot of time in that song…it came about very naturally like it was a feeling that we had kept inside our hearts for a long time it just happens to be one of those songs that came straight from the heart.

What's your most embarrassing experience?
We were in the middle of show and the lights tripped.
Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
It depends on what artist we are talking about if you say Internationally I think Porcupine tree, Dream theater, Symphony X, Tool and Steven Wilson because to be honest that kind of music is just too hard to find anywhere in the world. If we talk about local artists then, Mekaal Hassan because he is undoubtedly the best musician around, Sarmad Ghafoor because of who he is. Ali Azmat for the simple reason he is really out there, Strings etc…..in fact its something that we cant really answer because we admire everyone in Pakistan.
How do you handle mistakes during a performance?
We don’t. We’d like to think we don’t make any mistakes really. But on the odd occasion that we do we just let it go with the flow.
You guys are releasing your album soon, what kind of response are you guys expecting from the audience?
The Album is musically very accessible to the ear…so obviously we’re hoping we get a great response and well we expect people to love the album…but obviously you cannot please everybody. So we know how things can be….we’d still keep our hopes sky high.
If god forbids this album goes fail what are you alternative plans?
Make a new album…make more songs and hope for the best.
If this album gets sooooper hit, than what are your future plans?
We intend on promoting Pakistani music across the world so inshAllah if it is a hit we’d try getting an international label.

How often and for how long do you guys practice/jam?
Depends on what we are doing sometimes we don’t jam for months but if we are making music we jam every 2 days so really depends on the overall situation of what we are looking to do.
How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?
Salman and Shahbaz are brothers, Aashir is friends with both of them for the past 9 years and Shahbaz Asad has known them for about 6 or 7 years, Usman knew us for a long time but he joined the band recently….how we met is a long long story…too long to really tell here J
In your album what are the songs mostly about?
Almost everything Shahbaz Zaidi writes is about the current situation of the country…the album itself is a concept album and its about situations a person faces everyday in life with his emotions battling with those situations
Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?
We performed everywhere in Pakistan almost and there are no favorite or least favorite venues as long as the sound and crowd are good we’re good.
Which songs do you perform most frequently? Do you ever play any covers? Do you have a set play list?
We play our album now very frequently but of course we also play covers a lot of them…however I cant say we have a set list in general its different in every show.
Qayaas would also be releasing its album soon do you think it’ll effect the rating of your album?
We don’t think so…we don’t really think it makes a big difference…people would probably compare the albums we’d leave that up to them though we don’t think we sound anything like them in fact we wouldn’t want to since we have our own sound.
What makes naya din different from other Pakistani rock songs?
Naya Din the song itself is something no one will be expecting….its louder and technically nothing you must have heard before it will open people’s eyes once they see us play it live and when they listen to it on radios and their stereos. As for the album “Naya Din” is a one of kind album and you’ll only understand when the album is out.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?
Lyrics are written by Shahbaz Zaidi, and the songs are written by Salman and Shahbaz Zaidi…the drums are later made by Shahbaz Asad.
How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?
Its matured obviously we sound tighter and more synced now and we are naturally more experienced and we’ve grown as musicians.
What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?
Don’t make music because you wanna get famous and you have money…make it only if it means something to you otherwise don’t bother because it won’t be worth much.
Any upcoming projects?
Naya Din is the only upcoming projects :)
Any last words?
Thank you :)
Thoughts on lespectra.
